Technical Sales Engineer (USA)

Overall Purpose of Job
Reporting into RSD the ‘Sales Engineer’ has a high level of commercial involvement in opportunities and deals. The main role is supporting the US sales team with customer solution design and validation as well as qualifying opportunities and deals.

The ‘Sales Engineer’ will directly work on complex deals and support various key accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Regional Sales Director, with specific focus on the following activities:
    • Support sales team in Customer meetings and other Partner relationships as required
    • Responsible for identifying, qualifying and quantifying all opportunities within the sales organisation.
    • Architecting and designing customer solutions
    • Verify the feasibility of opportunities presented by the Sales organisation
    • Qualify directly with the Customer what they are looking to achieve and propose solutions that meet the Customer requirements
    • Producing detailed solution diagrams
  • Based on the Customers’ needs, where possible upsell Epsilon services that would provide them with extra value.
  • Regular Product and Engineering interface to fully understand company product direction and driving the company product strategy when solutioning for customers
  • Infiny customer demonstrations

Key Skills
The candidate will have experience in telco and enterprise network solutions and designs, specifically but not limited to knowledge in the following disciplines:
  • Cloud Networking solutions, with experience in designing cloud connectivity and multi cloud services
  • Layer 2 (MEF) and IP MPLS networking technologies, over Juniper (JunoS) network backbone
  • Experience and understanding of US submarine cable systems landing and interconnection points
  • Internet Exchange Peering and Interconnection (such as IX, MMR, Cloud Exchange)
  • SDN and SDWAN based technologies into customer network designs and architectures
  • Colocation and hosted network environment

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 3 years or relevant sales engineering experience in the telecoms/IT industry.
  • To have achieved certifications in either/or MEF, Junos, AWS, Azure technologies
  • Good understanding of Data and Cloud Technologies
  • Proficient in MS Office applications with the ability to learn new systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask with strong organizational skills
  • Meticulous and an eye for details
  • The ability to present, and negotiate with customers at all levels, i.e. engineers to board level.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High expectations around quality and ability to drive quality through the organisation.
