Epsilon Grows Its Middle East Presence with a Dedicated In-Market Sales Team
The company has opened a commercial office in Dubai to meet growing demand for Intelligent Network-as-a-Service and local access solutions
Epsilon, a privately owned global communications service provider, has established a dedicated in-market commercial team based in Dubai focused on creating bespoke solutions for local service providers. Growing demand for IPX-based services and outsourced local access networks has made it necessary for Epsilon to further develop its presence in the Middle East. Clint Collins, Regional Director, Carrier Business MEA, will lead Epsilon’s local efforts in the region.
“As a high-growth market and a region where we are ramping our network presence, the time is right to establish a local team and become even closer to our customers. Middle Eastern operators are asking us for intelligent network and local access solutions that can help them to deliver guaranteed quality of services globally and our local presence will help us to create the bespoke solutions they need”, says Clint Collins, Regional Director, and Carrier Business MEA at Epsilon.
In August 2013, Epsilon established a PoP in Etisalat’s SmartHub facility. The PoP in Fujairah gives it greater regional presence to support Epsilon’s interconnection services (Global Network Exchange), local access solutions (Enterprise Connect), capacity trading platform (eCX) as well as its intelligent network-as-a-service offering to power global IPX solutions.
Already over ϭ5% of Epsilon’s revenue comes from its operations in the Middle East with local operators choosing to outsource their global and region connectivity to Epsilon. The development of a dedicated in-market sales team in the Middle East follows on from a successful 2013 that saw Epsilon win a Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award for delivering its local access solution for Iraqi operator FastIraq.
“We are building on our successes in the past few years and a local team will only help us to do more for our customers”, says Andreas Hipp, Chief Executive Office at Epsilon. “We are facilitating growth in the ICT sector in the Middle East by providing efficient access to global IP connectivity. Local operators want to deliver content and applications with the network intelligence to offer an optimum end user experience and we have the technology and expertise to do that. It is an exciting time in the Middle Eastern market and we want to be as close to the action as possible.”
