Batelco, Bahrain’s leading integrated communications provider is further demonstrating its position as a leader in the Middle East’s telecommunications industry through the expansion of its global services across Europe.

As part of the expansion, Batelco has established a direct interconnection with Epsilon’s Global Network Exchange in London and Paris. With Batelco pre-connected, Epsilon can offer its customers network connectivity to the Middle East via the Batelco network as well as carrying Middle Eastern telecoms traffic globally. Customers of Batelco in turn have access to Epsilon’s 500+ pre-connected network operators around the world.

Batelco has made significant investment in deploying PoPs (Point of Presence) in Europe by acquiring high capacity redundant links. This allows Batelco to seamlessly extend its current portfolio of global services such as Global Ethernet (EPL, EVPL, VPLS) and Global MPLS (Layer 2 and 3) from anywhere in the region to Europe and the USA, making the region closer to customers requiring connectivity service to and from the Middle East.

Additionally, with Batelco’s current extensive presence in the Middle East region, in Bahrain, KSA, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan and Egypt, those pre-connected on the Epsilon Exchange will have access to utilize Batelco’s growing network for end-to-end diverse services.

Batelco General Manager Enterprise Division Adel Daylami said that the collaboration would facilitate Batelco to extend its reach and deliver its global services into more locations due to Epsilon’s network of POP’s and interconnections deployed around the globe.

The liaison with Epsilon further positions Batelco as a partner of choice in the Middle East region, serving to attract international players to connect through Batelco’s seamless and reliable network and connect them to new opportunities across the globe. Batelco continues to invest in acquiring global capacity and form alliances in order to enhance its redundancy and resilience throughout its entire global network. In this regard, Batelco aspires to establish additional PoP’s and is currently exploring opportunities in the Far East. Such resilience enhances ties of trust that our customers and partners have in Batelco’s capabilities.
