Director, Carrier Relations (Singapore)
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
This role is a unique opportunity to lead Epsilon’s supplier and partner development and local access procurement function in the Americas region and grow our data network and data center related services at the very core of the global cloud ecosystem. It’s a challenging role, building our contribution to the global cloud connectivity layer and its related telecommunications services, but one that is highly rewarding.
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager who thrives in a creative environment, who is collaborative and who can forge strong relationships with internal and external customers.
You will own and manage the day to day local access procurement workflow for all requests within the Americas region and with Epsilon’s core objectives in mind, you will be developing new and maintaining existing supplier relations to improve the individual suppliers service and commercial performance as well as the overall performance of local access, backbone and DC buying and provisioning.
We are looking for a confident and independent individual who can spearhead tough negotiations and maintain key internal and external relationships, can see the big picture and has the drive to make that vision a reality. You will have a deep understanding of procurement, PO and accounts payable procedures, whilst being capable and competent to drive MSA, SLA and supplier product validation processes with internal and external engineering teams.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Strategic sourcing and procurement of the Americas layer 1 – 3 transport, colocation, managed services and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). Developing regional supplier relations with the key objective in mind to source the best possible pricing from the market. Managing the day-to-day RFQ processing to the supplier market, interfacing with sales and engineering for the best possible solution validation.
You will also support the business with regional backbone procurement and OPEX reduction project execution ensuring timely execution.
Working with various internal customers and stakeholders such as Service Fulfilment, Engineering and Finance you will continuously review and streamline our business processes to supporting automation through our internally developed ERP system.
If you have got this far, you probably are. And we are interested too. We are looking for someone who has relevant experience, so you really need to have:
- At least 5 years network procurement experience
- Deep understanding of the Americas market players, their products and footprints, knowledge of APAC, Africa & Middle East region a big plus
- Experience in strategic sourcing of IRUs, Dark Fiber, Wavelengths, Ethernet and managed services
- Experience in working with both carriers and vendors
- Demonstrable skills in tough negotiating with a gentle approach to relationship building
- Good connections in the Americas network services supplier market.
It would also be great if you have knowledge of SDN/NFV concepts and network outsourcing propositions, cloud services, mobile networks or any other relevant skills and experience.
