Epsilon IP-Connect is a tailored solution for Carriers using public IP transit for their VoIP interconnections with other more remote operators. The service solves the problem of these hard to reach countries where dedicated bandwidth is too expensive, unless it is heavily compressed for high quality Internet access. However, since the public internet is a volatile medium when it comes to quality of service, the right selection of Transit Providers is crucial to achieve the best results for speech quality. One way of achieving this high quality transit is to connect to a good blend of Tier 1 Internet providers. This can give good global coverage as well as backup if networks are congested or fail. Many Carriers with lower volume are struggling to connect to multiple Internet providers, largely due to the high set up costs and volume commitments. This means they often have to continue their operation with an average solution. This unsatisfactory situation could have a potential negative impact on their business, where low latency and poor quality becomes major ongoing problems. The Epsilon IP Network is designed as a redundant service platform with two core routers, in two separate datacenter locations, linked by protected Gigabit Ethernet connections. The routers are connected to four transit providers via BGP, giving Epsilon a strong coverage across Europe, Africa, Asia and America. Customers will be connected to Epsilon IP-Connect via private and protected Ethernet connections.
